Mariska de Groot (1982, NL) is an interdisciplinary artist working at the intersection of light, sound, and space. She creates immersive installations in which self-built instruments generate dynamic, multisensory environments. Drawing inspiration from seemingly simple historical inventions, her work reimagines these ideas through experimental approaches, exploring technology, perception, and spatial experience.
Mariska earned her BA in Graphic Design from ArtEZ University of the Arts in Arnhem (2005) and completed her master’s degree at the ArtScience Interfaculty in The Hague in 2012. Her work bridges the boundaries between art, technology, and historical research, inviting audiences into experiential, phenomenological encounters that explore both the tangible and the evocative.
